New thermostatic cartridge only giving hot water

I replaced the thermostatic cartridge in my concealed shower unit yesterday and whilst I now have hot water again - its the only thing I have. If I turn the shower to the cold side, the shower actually turns off. Even though I’m only adjusting the temperature controls
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It could have been plumbed in the wrong way round.

There could be a blockage or maybe the cold supply has not been switched on after fitting the cartridge

if you are sure valves are open ?,it may be when you turned water off and on you have disturbed sediment in pipe and this is blocking a filter in cold inlet of shower valve.

Sounds like the new valve has been fitted the wrong way round/upside down.
