Split lights connected to one switch to two to save energy but no space for the second switch
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.44 PM
We have too many (about 10, installed by previous owners) front outdoor lights connected to a single switch. Currently we don’t switch on the front lights because I worry about using too much electricity. Due to no street lights near us, it gets very dark and unsafe if someone visits us. Is there a way to have only two lights connected to a switch and the remaining go to another switch (to be used occasionally) so that we can keep two low energy lights on in the evenings? The only problem is, there is no space in the box to add another switch. It’s a small box (next to the front door) with three switches, two of them are used for internal lights and one switch for outside lights.
