Heating/hot water advice
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.59 PM
I have recently moved into a my new home which was built late 60's. It currently has an oil boiler with an immersion heater for hot water. I am looking to replace with electric radiators so what are my options: Is there an electric boiler that I can use with my existing radiators, that can also provide hot water? Should I get plug in electric radiators and a boiler just for hot water and replace immersion heater? Last month I had a wood stove installed that I am currently using for my heating. I would be grateful for any advice. Thank you

It’s worth looking in to lenor electric boilers and we have fitted a lot to rads that are already there. Hope this helps.

The only electrical option for you should be an air or ground source heat pump to replace your oil boiler. It can work with the existing radiators and also can provide you with hot water in the tank. The immersion heater can stay as backup or keep the temperature of the tank hot also combined with solar and hybrid inverters with a battery management system can improve the whole efficiency and reduce your cost for bills. Still keep in mind that the cost of the above-mentioned equipment and probably the work will be substantial. I hope that helps :)

Hi there mate!!!
It’s easier to install a indirect cylinder for hot water using the stove for both heating and hot water!!!
