Concrete floor cracked
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.59 PM
In my kitchen, I have a concrete floor that was built as part of the extension (well before I brought the property). We noticed that around the point where the original floor met the extension, that the floor (Lino covered) fell away. You can see and feel the drop through the Lino. I took the Lino up and saw that the concrete floor slab had cracked and a chunk of it next to the original floor had slipped about 5mm. What could be the cause and how can I remedy? I'm getting a new floor laid throughout the ground floor of the house.

When they excavated to add the extended floor , they slightly undermined the existing floor , I wouldn’t worry about it !
Take out any broken bits and fill with a strong render , you should be fine .

Your floor gas dropped due to poor preparation before concrete went down. I would pour some resin into cracks . If you are having wood flooring use a decent underlay that should hide discrepancy
