Very cold rooms in converted loft - insulation advice

Hello, I've got a 1950s bungalow that has had a full conversion done to the attic to create an upstairs, however it's very cold upstairs and I suspect there isn't much insulation as the conversion was done back in 2006. There is some insulation as I can se it through the little doors leading to the roof space in the bedrooms, but I wondered if there is anything else I can do to insulate better? Please don't suggest taking the roof off and starting again. Any other advice/suggestions would be really welcome. Thanks.

It’s definitely a problem with the insulation and moving the thermostat will not help because it won’t be energy efficient if your boiler will have run constantly to keep that part warm would make sense to check the insulation and try add additional insulation where possible

You can cover the walls and ceilings with Insulation Board. There are different thicknesses, I think around 70mm will be enough. This is quite efficient but will take away from the interior space of the room.

Hi Colin,
My brother had a similar issue, albeit on a bungalow he purchased. The 'new' extension was colder than the original footprint.
I dont profess to be an expert in this field but we moved the boiler thermostat to great effect.
It may be an avenue to explore before anything more costly?
