Hi Nina it may be worth checking the feet on the base units are touching the floor still seeing as the tiles have been removed from a certain area you can also run a level over the units just to double check for level

Hi Nina. Usually the feet under the units are adjustable to an extent. If they are existing wall units, then they should be securely fixed to the walls and already level. If it was wooden floorboards, then your tiler was using a correct method by using cement board as a substrate. Tilers do these kind of jobs on a regular basis, and he should make sure all is as it was when finished.

The template guys. Will tell you But yes make sure. Feet on units are on the floor And units are level If you had laminate flooring and went under units you 15 year warranty would be removed

Hi, units should still be level as they have already been fixed but however you still should check their level anyway prior to putting new worktop. Cement board is fine as long as fixed properly ie 12 - 15 fixings per board. In regards to the tiles left under units, they won't be seen and probably a nightmare to get up if they were fixed straight onto floor boards. If you are that way inclined and want them up just ask him to. You will have to re adjust the feet under units so there touching the floor or you could place some board underneath the feet if height is a problem.
