Roof lift on Terrace house
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.05 PM
Hi, I would like to do a loft conversion for my house. Currently my roof is too low. My neighbours roof is higher then mine and I've seen dormer style conversions on my street. Will I need planning permission to have my dormer in line with my neighbours roof. I live in a terrace house whereby the side of my house faces the front of everyone else

If you are increasing the height of your existing roofline then you will require planning permission.

Have you thought about lowering your existing ceilings to gain more headroom in your loft?

Hi
You need planning permission from the local authority to raise the roof line
