Water Hammer. Semi-detached house
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.05 PM
Water Hammer. Semi detached house. When attached neighbour uses their washing machine we have terrible water hammer in our house. Only when they use the washing machine. The noise is horrendous during the fill cycle. How can THEIR water supply be affecting OUR pipes? We have had the internal stopcock replaced, drained and refilled the system, still hammering. This noise only started after the Gas pipes were replaced in the road last November/December? Could the main water supply pipe have been damaged, external stopcock damaged? We are at a loss solving this, any ideas appreciated. Thank You. UPDATE The Water Hammer is not in the walls but under the kitchen and hall floor, the supply pipe runs under there, also we can hear the hammer in the bathroom.
