Water leak but have been told that party wall firewall needs replacing

I have water coming into the back bedroom .Its a terraced older property and I have been told its because the fire wall needs replacing.Job quoted is for removing rear firewall, fit lead flashing to firewall, and lay dpc trays and firewall blocks.Question is why use DPC trays ?as far as I can make out its fibreglass sheeting ,why put that in the middle of the firewall ?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi. Sounds like you need grp bonding valley fitted not replacing the wall.

Sounds to me like you need to get a second opinion, try and find a fully qualified roofer, then they will explain everything in detail that is wrong and how best to fix it.

With out seeing some photos it's hard to say but fire walls can be repointed or recapped and redo the lead flashing or render the fire walls
