How do I invite a specific trader (or even search for one!)?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.49 PM

The system on this site seems to force me to post a job. This is fair enough, but when I want to invite someone to quote, I have to use the categorization system and select from the results. Lot's of traders cover more than one specialty and maybe the system accounts for that, but currently, I have a job which seems to cross disciplines or not sit neatly into one. I can search by trade, but again I don't see how to do it by name and the process forces me down a route of posting a job (I already did that). Lots of traders put leaflets through my door, so another use would be to check if they are listed here and what their feedback is like. So for example, if I have a job which isn't getting much interest, but get a flyer or spot a van on the street of someone who might be interested, it might be good to check them here and even invite them via this system. Basically, can I search for an individual trader by name either to invite to quote on a job or just generally (without having to post a job as part of the process)?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Some of the trades on my builder have a business card in the gallery with the contact details I would personally ring most builders will give a free quote or go on Facebook and search for the specific tradesman you need and post your job via the forum

MyBuilder works mostly on the basis of matching firms with your specified job - so it isn't the best system for every situation. I would always try 'Yell' to find firms in your area for your particular job. It can be difficult to know what type of company might best suit your needs - so a question on this forum might help with that. If you are considering certain types of work - maybe post a description and ask for advice as to the type of firm or service to look for. You could do a similar thing through Facebook of LinkedIn.
