Moving kitchen to the other side of the room

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.48 PM

Hi, we are wanting to moving our kitchen to the other side of the room as it would provide more kitchen storage space. It is currently at the back of the house and we want to move it to the front (same room). The problem is the window at the front of the house is lower than the back current kitchen window. Also obviously all the sink plumbing is at the back and the gas hob is there. There is plumbing at the front of the house too as we have a toilet in the room next door to where we want the kitchen to be moved too. I was wondering if it was possible to move it all to the front even with the lower window? It’s a detached house. Many thanks.

Considerations:- Hot and cold supplies nearby Flow and return for heating nearby Waste connection (40mm minimum) accessible and with correct fall from siting of sink and relevant appliances

As long as the bottom edge of your window height is above the height of your worktops, then moving your kitchen units over to the other wall won't be an issue, but as Stoneleigh Plumbers have mentioned, your biggest concern will be the accessibility of your hot and cold water supply and drainage. The things you need to consider are - Is there hot and cold supply pipes on that side of the room already, and if not, how will you route the pipes over there and keep them hidden as much as possible. Is there suitable external drainage on that side of the room, so that waste water pipes can be connected to it.
