Water leak at top of firewall

Hi I am looking for some advice about a leak I noticed over the last couple of years in my conservatory which was constructed about 18 years ago. The leak is on the firewall top edge where the roof meets the wall I have removed the white sheeting which covers the aluminium box section that runs the full length of the conservatory and the water seems to be coming in between the wall and the aluminium box section. The coping at the top of the wall looks good and the lead flashing running in to the gutter looks OK but I am just wondering if the gutter could be the problem. Will be very grateful for your advice kind regards David.

Seal the junction where the wall and aluminium with sealent silicone/adhesive

Before applying silicone make sure that everything is clean and dry, otherwise the silicone will not stick and you will have problems again

It may just be a simple case of sealing box gutter to wall/fascia however the leaks could be coming under box gutter adaptors and they should also be checked and re sealed with aquapol or something similar. Dependant on size and amount of downpipes the roof has it could also be that the gutter is filling too quickly and overflowing and leaking this way as it’s mechanically jointed

Sealing the back edge of the box gutter may help but I think this would be temporary. Does the lead flashing go full width under the coping to cover the cavity.? Box gutters sit level so need regular cleaning out especially now with the heavy deluges we get. All said :… you really need to post photos to get a full evaluation. Andy
