How do you fill in and make good after having taken out a gas fire

My plumber has taken out my gas fire and filled the hole with sheet of plasterboard which he is going to plaster now to make good, he says that an airbrick does not need to fitted, is that correct?

All unused chimneys need vented both top and bottom

Once the back boiler and fire has been removed.the new plaster board covering the old boiler position needs to be vented at the bottom

If it isn't vented it can/will cause damp eventually

This will be fine but I would put some insulation in there as well to help keep heat in also add a vent
