Replaced taps now I have low pressure in the hot.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.49 PM

I took my bath taps off to replace a nut and now the hot tap has lost lots of pressure. It's not juddering like I imagine an airlock would do and all other taps in the house as are fine. Any ideas?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If you are on a gravity fed system you are unlikely to get a judder if you have an airlock if gravity Fed use a hose from a mains pressure source and feed it into the outlet in the loft tank A bit awkward and a wet arm but will push the airlock out

Different what sort of system you have if you have combi boiler that mean it’s a Direct system no air lock but check whether you twice the flexi pipe under the tap . Second one if you have gravity system like cold water tank in the loft and hot water cylinder in airing cupboard There is big chance of airlock

Did you use full bore isolation valves. Maybe you used flexi connections and the internal diameter of the hose is restricting the flow.
