Hiding cables in a brick wall.

Depends on what you mean by hiding in the wall. Certainly advise against burying them in the wall. There are numerous very good TV brackets on the market which will give you plenty of options to hide the cables

Hi Yasamin. Wiring is normally just channelled in to the plaster, or whatever is covering the bricks or blocks beneath, and then capped and plastered back over. There are rules to follow. 230V cables must only be installed horizontally or vertically from an accessory, such as a socket, or within 150mm of the ceiling or corner of a wall. HDMI and coax is best practice to do but not as critical. It is quite involved to get cables hidden as they need to emerge from the wall at the right place to allow the various leads to plug in to the back of the TV and to get the socket in the right place. Be prepared for some disruption to the plastering if you want to hide the cables. Yes it is allowed and normal practice but like everything needs careful planning and attention to detail. Surface mounting wires in trunking would be an easier option but obviously more difficult to hide.

If it is a brick wall the cables will need chasing into the plaster work then capped. The power circuit (230V) must be capped separately to the HDMI/data cabling.

Depending on desired wall finish a socket and a brushed plate outlet could be installed behind the tv. Chases and repair works to existent wall may be required.

Yes the cables can be chased in the wall However the extra low voltage cables i.e HDMI cable should be kept away from the mains cables. 300mm is recommended You can cover the cables with plastic capping available from electrical wholesalers.
