Removal of embankment
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.49 PM
I have an embankment which needs removing at the back of my house,. The embankment starts at approx 6ft and goes up to approx 50ft. I'm looking to remove from 6ft to approx 20ft width of approx 40ft any suggestions of who to go to for this work?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You need some lad who has got a digger to remove it and some skip to take this out of your garden. Should be the best way.

You will need someone within the construction trade which has excavators to dig back the embankment and get rid of the soil also depending how far you want to dig back you may need a retaining wall built

Yes you need someone with a machine , but it would need planning and organising for safety .
A skip is no good but a grab lorry would work out cheaper anyway.
In either case you will need a few people with wheelbarrows or a dumper depending on access , potentially a retaining wall will need building also . It all depends on what the purpose of the project is.
This needs to be done under strict guidance and will not be cheep .
Good luck

First go to your local authority, as you may need planning permission. Most landscaping and groundwork companies will be able to do this. Digger, muckaway/grab hire highly advised. Skip is possible but much more costly. If I understand you correctly, and you want to leave in the remaining 20ft up till the 50ft, a retaining wall will be needed.
