Finishing both sides of new stud wall

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.48 PM

We have had a new stud wall built to create an ensuite bathroom, one side has been tiled, but the other has just been left plasterboarded, not skimmed. Is this acceptable?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes the builder is right to leave the board not plastered but ready to tile straight over the board . One assumes the board is moister resistant and is fixed according to the manufactures data sheet . Hope this helps Mike

If the wall you are referring to being not plastered is in the bedroom then it needs finishing ready to accept paint either plastered or taped and filled. If you have paid one contractor to do the job I’d imagine it’s black and white but if you have paid different people to do different parts of the work you will now need to pay for a plasterer then a Chippy to complete any skirting ect afterwards .
