Can't screw my door back into the latches

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.48 PM

I had to remove my UPVC door to get a table through. I went to screw the latches back into the door, but there seems to be some metal plate now in the way of the holes. I tried to move it, but no dice. What is this long plate covering the entire side of the frame, and how do I move it??

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like the reinforcing has dropped to the bottom of the frame. Manufacturing should have secured the metal with self tapping screws onto the frame. This sounds like the problem. You can lift the steal again through the routed holes where the keeps are rebated to, then realign the keep within the steel cut out.
