Emulsion on top of primer

Anonymous user 13/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

I prepared an mdf cupboard with primer. I am putting on a top coat of emulsion and the paint does not stick - it looks like crocodile skin. Should I be using Gloss rather than Emulsion?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You can use eggshell it's the same as gloss but not shiny, and looks like normal paint.

Hi You can use anything within the oil based range,ie,eggshell, satinwood, gloss. Or you can use the water based versions. Straight emulsion hasn't got the same properties an this is why your getting the croc effect. best of luck chris
