Ensuite Ideas - Bulkhead in Bathroom

Hi all! After some advice and ideas please for my ensuite which i have started ripping out. As you can see from the photos, the bulkhead for the stairs comes through in the corner. Previously this was the boxed out sink area but to me seems like a waste of space? Does anyone have some ideas/suggestions as my best way forward to make this a modern en suite / shower area! the original layout is good, full tiling with new sanitary units at the same place would be nice, an additional cabinet with mirror doors on top of the sink will fully utilise the space of the bathroom.
