Paving is better and longer lasting. But decking is more affordable.

There is no right one to choose, slabs and paving etc. require less maintenance and last much longer, whereas decking is more maintenance but more cost effective and adds a different style.

Slabs/patio is usually better as it usually lasts longer is easier to maintain and is normally stronger.

Some slabs do look really nice I'm a garden depending on how much you wanna spend also decking you can have wooden which gives you a natural timber look but you can also buy composite decking which comes in many different colours but with the extra cost you pay for it you get loads more life from it as its far less likely to rot at a pose to just standard timber decking

Decking may be fitted quicker and easier than some slabbing but it is also generally very slimy in the wet and requires maintenance Like cleaning and painting regularly.

It is personal preference, your pavers/slabs will last longer than a timber deck, however if you have a composite deck this has a good life span with little maintenance.

This is a preference because if slabs are correctly laid and have terram under then slabs should have next to no maintenance but are more costly. a patio if also installed correctly it is cheaper but more maintenance but will still last for a long period of time.

Composite decking is less slippery than some slabs. Both can look very smart though. Decking will last long if the frame beneath is treated regularly, however, not as long as slabs.

Both are decorative items, slabbed will cost more and last a lot longer and less maintenance to maintain. Decking is cheaper and cost effective but maintenance is a must to maintain look
