does a new consumer unit installed in a flat in Scotland need a building warrant?

ive just had a consumer unit upgrade in my flat in Scotland. ive been reading about building warrants that i did not know about . ive seen some places say i may need one. can any one advise please?

I don't think so. It seems the building warrant system is chiefly concerned with the structural integrity of the building. Therefore new sockets recessed into the wall of a flat DO require a warrant. Any electrical works to that scale needs signing off correctly. I know in England & wales for sure but we would have to check if Scotland has the same rules. With that said Im fairly certain it would need a cert & sign off.
