Laying a patio, can I grout to the house wall?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.58 PM

Hi, laying a patio in the back garden. Is there a general rule for laying and grouting right up to the outside wall of the house? (the patio will be over 15cm below the damp course and there are two semi-circular drains literally right against the rear wall). It would definitely look nicer grouted to the wall, but just checking if there are any rules for leaving a gap or special measures? Thanks, Bruce

Honestly always t groutit up to the house , as this will only cause water collecting and making a wall dumpy…👍🏻

I never patio up to the wall of the house. At the very least allow for a French drain. Very simple and effective.
