3 ft drainage channel at side of house
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.49 PM
Hello, my driveway is about 3ft higher than the foundations of the house. That side of the house is damp. I would like a drainage channel digging out alongside the house to keep water away. Would this be possible and who should I ask to do it please? Presumably something would need to be put in to reinforce it and being right up against the house it will be a fiddly job won't it? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

you would need to view the house to be able to suggest the best option as there are a few different options depending on the foundations of the house & the lay of the land.
who could do it, handyman, builder, groundworker, damp proofer really anyone with a bit of knowledge and common sense
good luck Alex

Hi
I would recommended Excavation next to the House 3ft down front of the driveway , let the wall to get dry befor you apply with DPM black jack or Weatherproof protection how most of Builders called , after applid with weatherproof liquid then you install a membrane , 100mm shingle Stone next the wall ,
Back fillet up , acco dranige to be installeted ,
This Way it will stop Any future damp in the House , that is one option ,,,,
