Need to see if my newel post can be altered to get a bed upstairs

I have a staircase with sloped ceiling going into external wall. The 3 steps up before the turn also are sloped at ceiling. Newel post is in way to get new bed base up staircase. Need to know if it can be altered or if its structurally important. Managed to get a guy to find the exact angle to get bed base up stairs without joinery. Something the delivery guys failed to do!!!!

This can be altered and replaced however, cannot be removed completely.

Is the window double glazed, would it fit through a window if glazing was taken out , i have done it on a first floor flat with a 3 piece sofa before now . Just a thought before you start taking your house apart…
