Bathroom humidistat extractor fan not turning off!

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.48 PM

Hi I have a vent axia bathroom extractor with humidistat which sits directly over the shower on the ceiling It's worked fine for a few years but recently it doesn't turn itself off not via the override pull cord? I'm not a leccy so cannot tell what the issue is, any ideas, I have tried the pull cord at odd times and it wil turn off but start up again straight away? There is little or no humidity on some days so surprised it still comes on

If the pull cord is the isolating switch for the fan then it should definitely and permanently turn it off. If it doesn't then it is for something else. It always possible that the sensitivity of the humidistat needs adjusting. There should be x 2 dials within the fan that can be turned to increase or decrease both the over run timer and humidistat sensitivity. You could turn off all the power in the property via the main switch and then try adjusting the settings this way?

I would recommend you change the fan. Its probably gone faulty. Nobody repairs fans these days its cheaper to just replace.
