Replace integrated fridge freezer

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.30 PM

Hi, my integrated fridge freezer has bust. I would get a free standing one but I can't get rid of the plinth as it's attached to the cupboard next to the fridge which houses my boiler. Could somebody suggest how to go about replacing the fridge? Thanks

hi, all you would need to do is cut the plinth in order for the fridge to fit in the housing you have and once you cut your plinth you will still be able to cover the housing/cupboard for your boiler hope this helps.

The fridge/freezer housing can be removed easily, the plinth cut and any architrave above re-cut. I have done ti's many times. However, it's usually better and easier just to replace the integrated fridge/freezer with a new one.

Hi the free standing fridge is wider than the other one so it won’t fit in unless is some slim fit in that case you only need to remove the doors .otherwise you have to remove the fridge larder unit and install side panels on the boiler housing and base unit if you have any next to it , one more thing I don’t understand how is the plinth is attach to the boiler housing ? Also a picture would help a lot to understand the situation, thanks

Hi based on what you said, if you would cut the plinth it would be alright . But when you place the new fridge, there should be at least 1cm on both sides. But the right decision would be made after seeing the pictures of the kitchen. Also the new fridge’s air circulation gap would need to be adjusted.
