Big area kitchen dinner concrete floor lino going in, is it best to use underlay

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.43 PM

Floor is needing to be screeded on extension join, then new lino going in, but is it best to have underlay as it is a big in constant use area. With pets and children. Needs to be properly finished as current lino is showing for imperfections. Many thanks for any advice.

Screed the floor, use an electric sander or a stone block to take out the imperfections. You dont put anything under Lino as it will ruck up. Your best bet is to have either LVT Tiles or laminate flooring. Good luck

no underlay is required, should a correct screed be applied all flaws should be removed

Hi if your floor is all concrete then you will need to put down a screed (levelling compound either water mix or a latex and powder mix) this will give you a level finish ,, this is the only underpayment you can use with vinyle flooring,,

You don’t need underlay . Make sure de floor is without imperfections, you may need to latex all area before lay down the vinyl.
