Removing dried worktop sealant/jointing compound

I've replaced the worktop in my kitchen with new laminate. The worktop came with it's own sealant (the brand was Egger) which came with a tool to remove the excess. The tool didn't work well so ended up using a profiling tool however some of the sealant got into the texture on the laminate leaving it slightly discoloured/tacky. Having read since sounds like I would have been better removing it before it had cured but it's too late now and wondered if anybody had advice on what might work to remove it with now without polishing the matt/textured laminate to a shine?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Having reviewed their own policy for this product, egger recommend: “Clean the worktop surface using a suitable cleaning agent such as citrus cleaner or acetone. Caution: Acetone can affect the surface if left for a long period”. If it was me personally I’d try a silicone sealant remover on a soft cloth or some of the builders wipes on the market which are great for removing silicone and stains such as “big wipes” for example. I’d certainly refrain from using any kind of abrasives on a laminate worktop which will almost definitely scratch the surface. Hope this helps
