Light showing between me and my neighbour

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.05 PM

Just had a whole new roof and been up in the attic and there’s light showing all the way down between us is this normal ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

No this is not normal the joint between the two properties will consist of a secret valley or similar or the same style of slate/tile however on a new roof joint you should not be able to see daylight. Any visible daylight is a potential leak. Kind Regards Angel roofing.

You definitely should not see daylight, if you have daylight you are vulnerable to water increase. They either should of put a ridge system down the adjoining roofs or had least a bonding gutter, you should not be seeing daylight !!
