KvA required for new electricity connection - 5 bedroom house with air source heat pump

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.05 PM

I have been asked to provide maximum KvA required for electricity connection to a new house after diversity taken into consideration -a 5 bedroom house, and if a single phase or a 3 phase is required. There is no gas in the area, so the house will use Air Source heat pump, which will also power underfloor heating on the ground floor. Other than this, there is no special need, except of course for normal household devices and electric oven/hob in the kitchen.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Good Morning The usual load for most domestic properties are between 55-65amp this means a typical 100amp supply is suffice, this includes diversification. However you will need to give them information on the heat pump / and or solar pv. We can assist with this but typical questions ; Input of solar or output required for HP Soft start for heat pump Max pulling ampage etc Hope this helps
