How to best fix a uneven flooring gap between hard floor and carpet
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.48 PM
I have carpet in my hallway, meeting tiles in the bathroom. There is a gap due to underfloor heating being added. It is at a slope so on one side it is 15mm and the other it is 30mm. How can I best solve? I was thinking to use an easy shim + sides to try to level it out to 15mm difference and then add a door bar, would this work? What trades person can best handle this?

Hi Yes a shim would potentially work but building up one side may cause other discrepancies under the carpet.
I would recommend a GENESIS height adjustable transition trim. Very easy installation! Screw in base and push down clip system.
This way you could create the slope with the trim rather than building up your carpet, but yes both options would work.
Link to the trim below.

Depends on weather the carpet is higher than the tile
