Plastering & Rendering

Plastering a bricked up fireplace

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.48 PM

I have blocked up a disused fireplace and have a recess of around 5-10mm from the brick face to the original wall. I am just wondering what the advice would be for plastering over. PVA 50:50, Hardwall and then skim with multi finish? Could it be done with PVA coat and then a couple of multi finish coats?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Personally I would hardwall first, and then skim with multifinish.

I would first PVA it, then hardwall it and finally do the two coats of multifinish
