How do I fit steel gutter shoes to existing steel Dow pipes.

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.43 PM

The steel garage has been installed without gutter shoes on the downpipes so the rain water does not flow away from the sides of the garage. The downpipes are attached to the garage almost to the ground. Looks like I will have to remove the whole downpipe somehow and refit it with the shoes attached - is that correct ? Thanks

You just have to remember to face the shoes alway from the Garage when instilling but by your description the shoes would be 15mm 20mm from the floor, you want have to remove them, as there wasn’t any the shoes because it wasn’t installed in the first place Glad I could help Stuart

Hi, All I do on these occasions such as yours is hold the shoe next to the downpipe 20mm up off the bottom...Mark where the shoe will be fully inserted...cut the mark section off using a hack saw, jigsaw or disk cutter ect of your choice...then remove the bottom downpipe clip fixings ...pull the downpipe either left ,right or out and attach the shoe...then obviously attacth the downpipe back to the wall. I hope this helps Rich
