Canopy extractor fan
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.47 PM
Hi, We are looking to install a canopy hood into an old chimney breast which now has our induction hob in it. I have found one which is nearly the correct size but it will need a frame to sit in to secure it. Can anyone suggest the best and safest materials to use and how do we actually attach it to both the chimney and canopy hood?

You need to build a insulated sofit with 18mm plywood so you can cut out for the extractor to fix too

It is possible to install an extractor into the situation that you describe, however you should take in to consideration that most extractors will only efficiently pump vertically for a metre and then horizontally for 2 or 3 mtrs. Pumping straight up the chimney will definitely not work efficiently for very long.
