Fixing wooden tiles to painted plasterboard wall
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.29 PM
Hello. I'd like to stick small wooden tiles to a painted plasterboard wall, and I just need to know if I need to prime the surface or if I can just use grab adhesive directly onto the painted surface.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

priming the surface is always good, because glue will be better applied to the ground

Cheap grab adhesive will potentially strip the paint and the tiles may fall off, scrape as much paint as possible off, key the surface and then prime to ensure they stay up 👍 Bal do a great all in one primer that just needs watering down as per instructions. Hope that helps 👍

You should firstly prime with Zinsser Gardz. This will stabilise the surface ready for applying the tiles.
