Electrical

My is not accessible by car but I have a garage situated about 80 yards away.

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.43 PM

I would like to get an electric car but would not be able to charge it from my house as there is no vehicle access. Is it possible to have an electricity supply run from my house to the garage which is not on my land and would require crossing a dirt footpath to get to the garage?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

That is an interesting question. There is no doubt that a supply could be taken from your house, however, crossing land not in your ownership would require permission from the landowner, something like a Wayleave, which would grant you legal permission to cross the land. It may involve agreement to reinstate it exactly as it is now and would give permission to get access to the cable should it need repair.
