Levelling slabs for a Shed base

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.43 PM

I have ordered a shed and was looking for advice on the best/easiest way to level an existing area of slabs. I have a roughly 6' by 16' space at the side of my house where I plan to put a lean to shed. It is currently slabbed on sand with 3x2's. I did this a few years ago and not my best work but is generally level. There are a few high/low areas at ponts but fairly minor. My new shed would measure 12' long and I wondered if there was any easy way of levelling out any minor imperfections rather than lifting a bunch of the slabs? Any advice would be appreciated!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If the slabs appear fairly solid and you don’t want to pick up and amend the imperfections, (re levelling the slabs is the best option) then when the shed comes just pack any deviations with some slate to take away any rocking or gaps. Being a shed it should overcome a lot of imperfections.

If they are just layed on sand alone this is no good. They need to be layed with sand and cement .Best way to lay them is to find the Hight that you want them put a peg in the ground. level across the length of your base put another peg in then you will be able to put a string line in and lay the slabs to the string line .Hope this helps you.
