Homebase unit doors and IKEA units

Hi a lot of kitchen units/manufactures are interchangeable, I know from experience however IKEA is not interchangeable with hombase or any other manufacturer I have come across

Cabinet heights can vary slightly so door heights won't always match. Widths are generally consistent. Hinge positions on the doors may differ from those on the cabinet of a different make. Why not simply buy the homebase carcasses? Another factor with Ikea (or at least it used to be, is that there is no service space behind the back panel and pipework had to be routed from below.

Hello there. From my own experience, I do not use Ikea kitchen cabinets. Wickes, B&Q, Wren, Homebase, plus many others are all fine. Howdens are the best for quality & the price for the range of carcasses (& doors), they do rigid and flat pack units. Plus lots of different depths to suit the utility room.

Hiya - the width are about the same , just the hinge is always different - ikea base units along with the wall units are thinner 15 mm - Howdens BQ Wickes are all 18mm - if your a good joiner - you don’t need the re drill the door side , just refix to the base unit or wall . Think it all comes down to a style , and price . If your not in the trade , you don’t get the discount - it’s all built up for the trader , you either make the money on the units fittered or the supply Everything else worktop wise these are All stranded size either wren home base Wickes Howdens magnet so on - hopefully this short message should help in your chose 😀 best luck
