Help! Pool of water on paving after cleaning

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.04 PM

I havr a drive that is blocked paved. It is a really old driveway and i havr a slight dip by my front door. I have had numerous trades people out to see if this can be raised level or a drain put in but unfortunately it cannot be done as i would need the majority of my driveay relaid and it is too espensive. It is only an issue when we have heavy downpours and then it drains away through the bricks. Anyway I had it professuonally cleaned yesterday and resanded and sealed. It is now raining and the water is not draining away at all. Is this because it was resanded and sealed and water cannot drain through? If so how can i fix this. Do i need to scrape out the sand between the joints and resand? Any advice would be appreciated. I cannot afford to get it relaid and there is no way to put in drainage / soakaway. Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You must have somewhere to run an acco to there must be a down pipe near by or simply raise the area to send to a soft landscape area

It is possible to just lift the blocks where the water is holding.. level and re-lay pretty simple job unless the area is big? Have you had this resolved?

can be lifted at the place where the water is pooling and relayed. it’s just a bit harder to get them back in but the problem should of been sorted before you spent money on resending an sealing now it will cost more as blocks still need lifting and then you will have to reseal 🤦🏽
