Is there such a thing as a fire umbrella in building regs part B?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.47 PM

THANK YOU FOR THE ANSWER 'Octo Building Contactors Ltd'. I've come across a fire strategy drawing that someone has drawn and they've highlighted an area on the floor plan and put a note which said something like 'fire umbrella to be an accordance with Approve Doc B', does anyone know what they could possibly mean by 'fire umbrella'?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, Fire "umbrella", is a fire rated roof section other side of a compartment wall as per "Junction of compartment wall with roof" (Diagram 5.2.a) Page 52 & 53 Approved Document B Volume 1, 2019 edition. Hope that helps
