What size wall vents do i need for my shed?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.47 PM
I have a shed that measures 363cm x 243cm (143 Inches x 96 Inches). I have put 2 x vents in the walls, One at either end, one high up and one low down. The circle hole i cut in the wall for each vent was 150mm (about 6 inches). I need good ventilation as fishing equipment is kept in the shed so its a lot of damp items, last year i had really really bad mould issues in the shed due to this, so i have now put these vents in the walls to try stop the problem. Are they enough?

Definitely a good idea throwing some static vents in, best bet I’d say is try two for now and see how you get on, if you need more then try another two especially as your storing wet gear in there but i would consider some form of screening internally like a fly mesh to stop unwanted lodgers coming in.
If more ventilation doesn’t solve your problem, try a week or two without your wet gear in the shed, the wet/mould issues could be damping issues from another source.

Try putting some sofitts vents on the floor inside the shed I would recommend 1 on each side.
