Advice on how to insulate/plasterboard internal lane

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.29 PM

I live in a ex-council terraced house, which has an internal lane between mine and the neighbours property. The wall between my the lane and my neighbours house is only single brick and is currently just painted, I am wanting to have is plasterboard and skim in order to use as a utility area. Can I just plasterboard or do I need insulation and to use a damp proof membrane? The other side of the lane is my neighbours livings room so is a heated room, not sure if this makes any difference. Thanks

Hi the more you protect the gyproc the better ie isolation and damp proofing for the extra money it will cost bet better off doing it as the last thing you want it’s haveing to rip off what you have done to have to do it in the future hope this helps
