Water dripping in tundish

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.29 PM

Hi all. Can anyone shed any light on the below. I have an unvented system boiler and hot water tank. Water drips at a steady pace through the tundish after about 20 mins of the hot water being on. I have had a plumber out multiple times over the last few weeks and have replaced the expansion vessel, this needed doing, on the cylinder and both the prv and tprv and also re pressurised the expansion vessel in the boiler. Thought it was fixed but have spotted the issue has returned again this evening. Any help or advise welcome

If all that work has been done I would be looking at the cylinder thermostat, also make sure the immersion heater hasn't been turned on by mistake.you can check if it's the tprv cos the water coming out is warm/ hot then it tprv, or the water is getting too hot. If it's cold then it's the pressure reducing combination valve.

if you have replaced the expansion vessel, and the tprv and prv and this occurs when cylinder is heating, all that is left to go wrong is either the zone valve controlling the primary flow to cylinder is not operating when set temperature on cylinder stat is reached, or stat itself is faulty, or immersion heater stat is faulty if it is on. get a g3 registered plumber to look at it
