Breathable screed finish for old victorian yorkstone flags?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.28 PM
Hi all, I have purchased a victorian end-terrace built circa 1905. The kitchen still has the original yorkstone flags but I've had a restorer visit who has advised they are too far gone to restore. Rather than replace the entire floor, would it be possible to simply cover it in a breathable self-leveling screed that has a smooth finish on the top? Perhaps then finished with another breathable floor covering? I want to avoid creating any damp issues, but also avoid the cost and time to replace the entire floor, if possible. Not sure about the options. Any suggestions? Thanks
