I bought a flat roof kit from an online supplier: https://www.fibreglassroofingkits.co.uk/flat-roofing-kits/450g-fibreglass-roofing-kits/35m2-fibreglass-roofing-kits-450g There are a lot of pin holes in the roof, literally 100s if not 1000s. My roofer has assured me this is normal. However, there is some ponding at the front of the roof where some water does not seem to be going over the front trim. There is a ~4inch to nothing firring on the roof with a span of 4m. I have some resin from the kit, can this be used to fill the pin holes over the top coat? There is water coming down the fascia behind the gutter. This can only be coming from under the front trim where its is ponding. I do not have any top coat left but the roofer recommends cure it. Can this top coat be added to the roof if the original resin was not top coat? I know it would need acetone first. Thank you

There should be no pin holes what so ever when fiber glassing they should of used paddle roller when laying the matting this helps the resin and the matting to bond together. Once set the full roof should of been sanded the cleaned befor the top coat . Then a good layer of top coat added making sure every thing painted had a nice neat finish. You can go over whats been done but there area will need a good sand down first. Also the water down the faicer could be from the pin holes or the trim may not have enought over hang into the gutter. Hope this helps B.Newell.Roofing

Sounds to me like the front batten hasn't been fixed on flush with roof level which will kick up the front drip trim which will then hold water back from running over the drip in to the gutter, saying that if your roof has a fall 4inch to nothing the batten must be kicking up quite a bit, personally I would stay away from fiberglass roofs, they look lovely when they are done but 4 months down the line they look terrible, any moment they split and pop off the decking, I have stripped up loads of fiberglass roofs where they have failed, to many people going on a half day fiberglass course and calling themselves flat roofers , stick to traditional methods like felt and asphalt you won't go wrong . Dripping down the fascia is either due to pin holes or not enough of a drip edge (roof overhang into gutter) there should be a 25-50mm drip edge, pin holes IS NOT supposed to be in the roof once it’s complete, 2 ways to remedy this, is to sand down the entire roof and apply an assertone clean then a thick layer of resin and a further coat of top coat, or you can carry out the same procedure as far as the sanding down and the clean but then add a coat of resin then another layer of matting with another coat of resin then consolidate finally apply the top coat paint after another sanding and clean. As for the puddling if ferrings have been used there should be no puddles, however a gentle puddle shouldn’t be a real issue as long as the roof is sealed
