What is the tollerence level for grout on a bathroom flood tile?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.47 PM

We recently had our bathroom tiled and it looks like they have used way too much grout on the floor. The tiler has said it is "within tolerance levels" but I don't know how to calculate that? Can someone please let me know what they should be? Thanks

Consideration should also be given to the type of grout to be used. Common practice is 2-3mm for wall tiles and 3-5mm for floor tiles. The key difference in tile type, in relation to grout lines, is whether you tile is rectified or not.

The smaller the grout joints, the better. Ideally, your grout joints would be 1-3mm. Often we see 1mm grout joints between wall tiles and 3mm grout joints between floor tiles.
