Concerned moisture will get in between slate floor and kick board in kitchen ?
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.46 PM
The area between my slate floor and the kitchen unit kick board is not sealed and I am concerned that moisture will get in when floor being washed etc. Can I 'retro fit' plastic sealing strips. Also where the dishwasher meets the kick board when it was integrated is very tight so I dont think I can put anything in that area - never having had integrated appliances before I am not sure if that needs to be sealed as well? - Is it quite straight forward to put the plastic trim etc on to the kick board.

If you have laminate finish on the edge of your plinth than its waterproofed. If not you have to install a plastic trim. Under dishwasher you can add a same plastic trim on top of the plinth just need to cut it to make a space. Also you can add some clear silicone or edging strip.
