Bathroom floor unlevell what can I do?

My bathroom floor in unlevel due to previous settlement in the property. What’s the best was to go about levelling the floorboards before having it tiled as screed would just run through the gaps?? Daft question sorry

3 or 6 mm plywood folowwed by a bead of silicone all the way around so the self levelling screed wont get through.

Put plywood if the difference is more than 3mm, then silicone all the edges and use self leveling screed
