tapered or square edge plasterboard?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.28 PM

Not sure which one to to use? It will be used for a mix of ceilings, stud walls and brick walls. They will all then be skimmed over? Any advise greatly appreciated, thank you 😊

Yes if you are skimming the boards you need to use square edge boards you could use tapered boards if your skinning them and you had some spare but not if you had the choice

Square Edged boards will be fine for ceilings and walls that are getting skimmed over. Tapered edge boards are to be used when they are going to be tape and jointed.

I’d advise you to use square edge ! This is because you will be skimming them- tapered edge are preferred for tape and jointing- hope this helps.
